Are you passionate about music, community, and empowering our young musicians? The Wildcat Band Corp (WBC) invites you to explore exciting opportunities to join our Board of Directors! As a vital part of the Kennedale Wildcat Band program, our board plays a crucial role in supporting and enhancing the educational and artistic experiences of our talented high school musicians. By becoming a member of the WBC Board, you’ll collaborate with other parents, and community leaders to create lasting impact through fundraising, event planning, and advocacy. Your involvement will directly contribute to providing resources, scholarships, and performance opportunities that inspire our students to reach their full potential. The Kennedale Wildcat Band program thrives because of the dedication and passion of our amazing volunteers. As we prepare for the 2025-2026 school year, we are looking for enthusiastic parents and guardians to join the WBC Executive Board and continue the tradition of excellence in leading our booster club for our students!

Serving on the WBC Executive Board is a meaningful way to make a direct impact on the program, support our students and directors, and foster lasting connections within our band family. Whether you have experience in fundraising, event planning, organization, or simply a love for the Wildcat Band, there’s a place for you!

Supporting the Wildcat Band is a team effort, and we need YOU to help keep our program strong. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to working together for another fantastic year!

WBC BOARD POSITIONS & DUTIES

Preside over all meetings of general membership, the Board of Directors, and special meetings.

Appoint committee chairpersons and serve as ex-officio member of all committees.

Countersign the minutes of meetings and treasurer's reports once approved and accepted by a quorum of WBC general membership.

Provide the current bylaws to the Principal each year.

Oversee all communications (email, Cuttime, social media, etc.).

Assume duties of the President in his/her absence.

Responsible for all Concession Stands, including planning, purchasing, stocking, and staffing with volunteers. Concession Stands include any band-sponsored location selling food and beverages.

Manage WBC-funded food/snacks and beverages provided to band members. This can include snacks/drinks for football games and competitions as well as other WBC-sponsored activities.

Work with the Treasurer to report expenditures and deposit monies earned.

Perform other duties as directed by the President.

Responsible for all fundraising activities (excluding Concession Stands).

Oversee and assist the Sponsorship Committee.

Responsible for the Annual Banquet.

Perform other duties as directed by the President.

Record and report minutes of both general membership and Executive Committee meetings and be custodian of all organization records.

Establish and maintain a membership roster with both physical and email addresses and telephone numbers.

Maintain a list of approved volunteers and distribute volunteer name badges/lanyards.

Work with the President to create meeting agendas and other documents for distribution to members.

Maintain a record of attendance at all meetings.

Notify the administration of all meetings and file the minutes with the Principal (AFTER approval of the WBC Board).

Keep records of all contracts and holdings of the WBC.

Apply for a Bingo license.

Maintain the Bylaws of the WBC.

Reconcile monthly bank statements.

Receive all monies of the organization, keep accurate records of receipts and expenditures, and pay out funds as authorized by the Board of Directors.

Co-sign checks along with the President/other elected officer.

Ensure that an audit of the books is performed by a person approved by the Board of Directors and a report is made at the last meeting of the year.

Submit an annual financial statement to the principal of Kennedale High School of all activities for the previous year.

Submit appropriate documentation for non-profit public entities.

File monthly financial statements with the Principal.

COMMITEE CHAIR POSITIONS & DUTIES

Responsible for all membership drive activities.

Committee duties shall fall under the responsibilities of the Secretary.

Responsible for all fundraising activities and shall give an accounting in writing to the 2nd Vice President and Treasurer following each fundraising activity.

Committee duties shall fall under the responsibilities of the 2nd Vice President.

Responsible for staffing, inventory, and stocking the concession stand.

Committee duties shall fall under the responsibilities of the 1st Vice President.

Contact local businesses to explain sponsorship programs and solicit donations.

Review and revise sponsorship documents as needed.

Manage perks (signage, internet posts, etc.) earned by sponsors to ensure they are delivered.

Report activities to the Board and members at WBC meetings.

Committee duties shall fall under the responsibilities of the 2nd Vice President.

Reach out to potential vendors.

Book entertainment for the event.

Schedule Santa’s appearance.

Assign vendor spaces and purchase table décor.

Decorate Santa’s booth and purchase candy canes.

Provide refreshments for vendors.

Order pizza and cook breakfast.

Manage event staffing.
